Cacao Collective exists to help health-conscious people have functional, tasty nutrition while creating a wellness experience that is delightful and makes people feel genuinely good about themselves. Cacao Collective’s founder, Yasmin, approached Rivyl because she wanted to refine and bring cohesiveness to her brand. She wanted to inspire her community, creating a path to good health that is simple, delicious, and energising.

Brief

The brief was simple – a brand that was community-centric, warm, and fun. Yasmin wanted her brand to feel like “a warm chocolatey hug.” A brand that encourages and supports people to make healthy choices is a habit that works. Yasmin didn’t want Cacao Collective to just be known as “another coffee alternative.” She wanted Rivyl to make Cacao Collective feel like an invitation – to make wellness a blend of delightful, functional, and personable moments.

Result

With a cup of cacao in hand, the team at Rivyl crafted a tone of voice that reminded us of the warmth and bold aroma of cacao. The voice was a blend of confidence and support, empowering people wherever they are on their wellness journey. For the visual identity, Rivyl added some refreshing touches to Cacao Collective's current look. We went with a really warm and grounded colour palette that felt welcoming. As for the secondary palette, Rivyl chose muted pastel colours that gave the grounded palette a more energising feel, such as the feeling people get when they drink cacao. Because Yasmin loved her current logo, we tweaked it a bit – adding cacao nibs to the ‘C’ and ‘O’ – to give it a contemporary look and link the logo back to the product. To finish off the look, Rivyl created illustrations to combine into the brand pattern. Taking inspiration from the cacao plant, illustrated designs were combined with the secondary colours to create a recognisable and delightful packaging for the brand. Together with the rounded and organic form of fonts, Cacao Collective now boasted a welcoming and genuine feeling.
