Meet Step, a gender-fluid queer activist and founder of Cute Little Fuckers.

Cute Little Fuckers are cute, shame-free, gender inclusive makers of vibrating sex toys shaped like adorable monsters. And they are on a mission to make exploration of sex, sexuality and gender… light-hearted, exciting and fun experience for everyone.

They got off to a strong start by raising over $35,000 in less than 2 months. But there was a problem they wanted Rivyl to help them solve.

After raising $35,000 in 2 months via Kickstarter, business started. But it was sluggish and sales weren’t on par with what Step hoped for.

When we were called, we immediately identified two key issues. Inconsistent branding and non-existent marketing strategy.

They needed a strong and consistent brand image that represented what they valued and stood for. This would also help them launch new toys with uniform branding, messaging, design and voice that fits the personality of the brand.

In terms of marketing, references and word of mouth was all they had.

So, what did Rivyl do?

We put on our detective hats and went to work.

We found that most of their customers were active on Instagram. Creating a strong identity in Instagram that matched brand values was our first task. For this, we sought real feedback from real customers. We used surveys, interviews and some bribing (free giveaways) to get reliable data.

Once we had that, we worked on their website, and brand colors to match their brand voice which their customers loved.

Step wanted regular email campaigns to engage and build relationships with customers. (They were doing 1 email a month and only a few read those.)

So, we wrote multiple email sequences for them to help with their email and engagement goals.

This is how we helped Step and Cute Little Fuckers. By creating a strong, consistent brand image that matched with existing brand voice and personality. And by overhauling their website and social media to match the new brand image, and using email sequences to engage with customers. The photos below show what we did.
